It’s that time of the year again when I review the outgoing/outgone year and pick out the ten most influential people in my life for the year. The list came out early this year, maybe I should do this more often.

Lil’ History

I started this trend in 2005 and it has become a personal tradition for me. Most times, I don’t get up to ten people and I believe it is better that way – few but truly wonderful people rather than plenty list-fillers.

This Year

Chinenye, Chude, Tobi, Bayo & Afolabi and Anosi are here again. Everyone else is new on this list.

This year, I almost didn’t get up to 10 but I am grateful to every single one of you all the same. Thank you for all you do, I really appreciate it, more than you know.

Part of the year was okay despite the low points, did even more travelling than I did last year especially after I left the hub.

The low points were really low and I had to ask God several times what my purpose really was. At some point, I was broken and didn’t know what to do next.

To all these people who are not part of the official List of Ten but also played a part – Ebun, Tunmise, Doyin Anjorin, the RED family (awesome people), Tomiwa – my UNILAG Gist co-founder, Ayokunle Odekunle, Oz the godmother, Chioma Chuka, Celestine Ezeokoye, Seun Alaran, pHisayo, Wura, Ani, Daphne.

I know I am not perfect and this year, my imperfections became even more prominent or people decided to focus on them more. I appreciate your love, care, concern, corrections and chastisements. It’s all in a bid to make me a better person and I thank you all for it.

Below is this year’s list, and in no particular order, as usual:

  • Badmos Shuaib
  • Chinenye Nwachukwu

  • Tobi Soyombo
  • Nicole Wanogho
  • Anosime Imhoitsike
